The Trans Guide does not collect any personal information until you provide it to us via a form submission. Upon submission of a form, we collect the data you submit via that form.

Website address of the resource you're submitting
State of the resource you're submitting
Description of the resource you're submitting
Name
Pronouns
Email address
Your state
Optional preference for meeting in person vs. virtually
Description of your interest in participating in The Trans Guide's oral history program
Description of your access needs
Anything else you'd like to share prior to your interview
The Trans Guide uses your data only to do the following:
Schedule an oral history interview, request additional information you'd like to accompany your interview on the website, and follow up after scheduling requests, interviews, etc.
Grow our database of user-submitted resources for the transgender community
You can choose to decline to provide us with personal data by not submitting information via our forms. However, that means you will be unable to:
Partake in the oral history program
Contribute to our database of resources
If you decide to provide us with personal data for the purpose of participating in the oral history program, you can opt out of the following:
Having your interview featured on The Trans Guide Podcast
Providing images for use on The Trans Guide website
Having your full name or pronouns on the website/in the podcast
The following information is required to participate in the oral history program:
A name to be featured on the website and/or the podcast, be that your full name, just your first name, a nickname, or an alias (legal names not required)
Some form of imagery provided by you or taken of you by The Trans Guide, though imagery does not need to depict you (for example, you could provide images of art you've created in place of images of you)
Some portion of your oral history interview. You will be able to review a transcript after your interview and redact portions you feel uncomfortable with having out in the public, but the remaining portion of the interview must still be substantial enough to tell your story
The Trans Guide does not use cookies.
